“Never, never, never give up.” - Winston Churchill
“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” - Thomas Edison
In each of us is the light of hope, strength and goodness. It can get buried and hard to get in touch with during the difficulties inherent in life. But this is
when it is all the more important to remember the light inside us, to catch that glimmer in the mist of dark times.
Pain of all kinds can sink us as if being pulled by a powerful magnet down an unfathomable quick sand of light lost. It is in these times we must grab on to
the positive strength Churchill alludes to in his words: “Never, never, never give up.” Instead of giving into our most negative perceptions and reactions to
what is happening, we need to catch the glimmer of light that is there by daring to hope for goodness to prevail in face of what looks like a hopelessness
situation. Hopelessness is a sly fox that tricks us into NOT reaching for the best part of ourselves. Dig deep and staunchly refuse to let this culprit win the
day. Don’t let this liar steal your day from you. Don’t let hopelessness stop the goodness that is in you from being realized. Catch the glimmer of light and
it will lead you to increased strength, increased hopefulness, and increased enjoyment of your life.
Refuse to be a victim.
Use affirmations to catch the glimmer of light. “I can handle this.”
“I give thanks that I am healthy, happy and whole.” Let these affirmations reprogram you to “…always to try just one more time.”
